Secretary of State Ken Bennett fields questions from reporters at the Primary Election Canvass signing ceremony conducted on Sept. 7, 2010, at the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix.

Sec. Bennett reports about 30 percent of the voters turned out at the polls, one of the highest percentages ever for a Primary Election in non-presidential election year since 1990.



The official state canvass for the Aug. 24 election is signed and released by the secretary as part of his duties as chief elections officer. The canvass represents the approval of official election results, establishing the slate of federal, statewide and legislative candidates for the Nov. 2, 2010, General Election.
