The Arizona Department of Education, Arizona State Library, First Things First, Governor’s Office of Education Innovation and Read On Arizona have partnered to promote a summer reading program for parents, educators and children/students. Secretary of State Ken Bennett and Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal will host a kickoff event to introduce the first statewide summer reading collaboration.
This collaboration uses the Arizona State Library’s annual summer reading program offered by public libraries across the state as a springboard to involve educators, students and parents in choosing summer reading materials based on interest and targeted materials to improve reading skills and monitor reading growth.
The media are invited to attend.
