Arizona Voters Have Until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, to Cure Early Ballot Signature Issues

The Arizona Secretary of State's Office is reminding voters who cast an early ballot in the 2026 Primary Election to respond promptly if they are contacted about a signature verification issue. Arizona law provides voters until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026, to cure a signature discrepancy and ensure their ballot is counted.
If election officials are unable to verify the signature on an early ballot affidavit, the voter will be notified and provided an opportunity to confirm their identity and resolve the issue before the statutory deadline.
To make the process faster and more convenient, Arizona counties use Text2Cure, a secure mobile tool that allows voters to complete the curing process from their smartphone or other mobile device. Voters who receive a notification should respond as soon as possible and should not wait until the deadline.
"Every eligible voter deserves the opportunity to have their ballot counted," said Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes. "Text2Cure provides a secure, accessible, and convenient way for voters to quickly resolve signature issues and ensure their vote is included in the final count."
If a county identifies a signature mismatch, the voter will receive a text message containing a secure link. Through Text2Cure, voters can:

Confirm their identity;

Upload a photo of their Arizona driver's license or state-issued identification card; and

Verify their signature electronically
Once election officials confirm the information, the ballot is cured and eligible to be counted.
If voters are unsure about the status of their early ballot, they can check their ballot's status using the My.Arizona.Vote portal. Voters with any additional questions about the status of their ballot or the signature curing process should contact their county recorder or elections office.
For the general election this upcoming November, the Office encourages voters to sign up for BallotTrax or the similar services provided by Maricopa and Pima Counties at Arizona.Vote. This program provides real-time updates through text or email to voters regarding the status of their ballot and signature verification.
