PHOENIX - Secretary of State Adrian Fontes today invited young people from across Arizona to apply for the forthcoming John Lewis Youth Leadership Awards. This prestigious award, established in 2021 by the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS), seeks to honor the exemplary efforts of young Arizonans who embody the spirit of leadership, social justice, and community service that Congressman John Lewis championed in his lifetime.
The award bears the name of the late Congressman John Lewis, in recognition of his fearless accomplishments during the Civil Rights Movement and his extensive career in public service, which have left an enduring impact on the nation's history.
