Referendum filed against SB 1070
Bill to be proposed to Arizona voters if group collects necessary signatures
PHOENIX – A group calling itself One Arizona has filed paperwork for a referendum regarding Senate Bill 1070, which Gov. Jan Brewer signed into law in recent days.
In order for the referendum to appear on the Arizona ballot, the group must collect and submit to the Secretary of State's Office at least 76,682 valid signatures of Arizona voters. The deadline for submittal is 90 days following sine die, [The 49th Legislature, 2nd Regular Session Adjourned Sine Die on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 11:07 p.m.] which represents the close of the legislative session. That session remains in progress.
