Secretary of State's Office Posts Financial Disclosures on Website
PHOENIX – In an effort to provide easy access to state officials financial disclosure filings, Secretary of State Ken Bennett has announced the reports are now available on the SoS website, www.azsos.gov.
"When it comes to cleaning up government, it's often said that sunshine is the best disinfectant," said Secretary of State Ken Bennett. "While these forms were easily accessible to the public by requesting them from our office, we felt that it would make sense to make them available online as well. With the addition of financial disclosures to our growing digital library of public documents, citizens have the ability to thoroughly inform themselves on their elected representatives financial interests.
"The intent of requiring lawmakers and elected officials to file financial disclosures was to provide the opportunity for the public to scrutinize the forms for potential conflicts of interest. Now people can take advantage of that transparency online."
Citizens can review the financial disclosures of state officials and legislators on the Secretary of State's website, http://www.azsos.gov/election/financial_disclosure.
