MEDIA ADVISORY

Monday, September 21, 2020

PHOENIX – Secretary Katie Hobbs will be participating in voter outreach events to celebrate National Voter Registration Day on September 22, 2020.

The National Association of Secretaries of State established September as National Voter Registration Month in 2002 to encourage voter participation and increase awareness about state requirements and deadlines for voting. Last year, nearly 9,000 people registered to vote or updated their voter registration during National Voter Registration Day in Arizona.

“National Voter Registration Day is a perfect opportunity to remind people that the voter registration deadline to participate in the 2020 General Election is October 5, which is just a few weeks away,” Secretary Hobbs said. “We encourage anyone who would like to have their voice heard in November to register as soon as possible.”
