Media Advisory: Secretary Fontes to Host the Assembly of the Electoral College
PHOENIX – Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes is pleased to host the ceremonial Assembly of the Electoral College, taking place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Tune in to the assembly and witness Arizona's 11 electors, who will cast their votes for President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance, take their oaths of office.
"Recent recounts have confirmed the integrity of our elections, showing they're as solid now as in 2020 and 2022," said Secretary Fontes. "As the electors conduct their constitutional duty, it's clear: our systems work. Let's work together to move forward, focused on strengthening our democracy and honoring our commitment to the truth."
Secretary Fontes, along with Arizona's Elections Director Lisa Marra, will administer the oath of office to the electors. Following the oath, Secretary Fontes will sign and seal the certificates of vote. These certificates will then be transmitted to the President of the U.S. Senate, the Chief Judge of the Federal District Court for the District of Arizona, the Archivist of the United States, and maintained on record at the Arizona Secretary of State's office.
This event occurs at 10:00 AM and can also be viewed via live stream on the official YouTube channel of the Secretary of State's office.
