Fontes to Celebrate 113 Years of Arizona Statehood
PHOENIX – The Arizona Secretary of State's Office warmly invites the public and media partners to celebrate Arizona's 113th anniversary of statehood on February 14. Tailored for people of all ages, this special event will take place at the State Historic Capitol Rotunda.
“Arizona's journey as a state is a story of resilience, diversity, and community,” said Secretary Fontes. “We welcome everyone to join us in celebrating our shared history and shaping our future.”
To commemorate Statehood Day, Secretary Fontes will host a ceremonial recitation of the statehood proclamation originally issued by President Taft and he will have the original State Constitution out for display. The event will conclude with a cake and coffee reception for attendees, as well as activities for children.
In partnership with the America250 Arizona Commission, we will preview some details and upcoming events regarding Arizona's participation in America's upcoming 250th anniversary.
