PHOENIX – Continuing the commitment to ensuring every eligible voter can register and vote in as easy a manner as possible, especially for those defending our freedoms, the Secretary of State’s Office is proud to announce the launch of our upgraded online portal for Military and Overseas Voters. This streamlined digital platform enabling U.S. servicemembers and overseas citizens to register to vote, request a ballot, and get information about what is on their ballot in one secure and accessible place, without needing a printer and scanner. This launch comes ahead of the May 31st start of the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) voting period for Arizona’s special election in Congressional District 7.

“We’ve made it faster and easier than ever to register to vote, request a ballot, and eventually cast a vote no matter where duty has taken you. I’m proud of my office’s commitment to every eligible voter who wears the uniform or lives abroad,” said Secretary of State Adrian Fontes. “It’s our recognition of their valor and sacrifice.”

Military personnel and citizens living abroad have special voting rights under both federal and state law through the UOCAVA. These rights include access to the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA), which allows voters to register and request a ballot simultaneously, and the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB), a back-up ballot option if the requested ballot does not arrive in time.

Key Features of the Online UOCAVA Voting Portal:

  • A single application for voter registration and ballot request (FPCA)
  • Access to fillable FPCA and FWAB forms that allow the registrant to sign using their device and attach any needed documents to prove citizenship into one document that is sent directly to the appropriate County Recorder’s office.
  • Additional links to the Arizona Clean Elections Commission, Arizona’s Voter Information Portal, and the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) to obtain additional information.

Military and overseas voters should act now to ensure their eligibility in the upcoming CD7 race. The new portal is live and accessible at:
