PHOENIX – The Arizona Secretary of State's Office today announced the launch of an updated BallotBot, an AI-powered virtual assistant designed to help Arizona voters quickly find accurate, official election information throughout the 2026 election cycle.

Today, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) sent the Arizona Secretary of State's Office a letter threatening criminal prosecution of election officials responsible for voter registration if there are noncitizens registered to vote in their jurisdictions.

PHOENIX – Today, Secretary of State Adrian Fontes has launched a statewide PSA campaign reminding Arizona that voters in all 15 counties have the ability to sign up for BallotTrax, the real-time ballot status update system.

Phoenix— Earlier today, the United States Supreme Court agreed to hear arguments in defense of Arizona laws that risk disenfranchising eligible voters. This decision is in response Republican National Committee (RNC) requested to overturn the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals decision in Mi Famila Vota v.

Arizona voters returning their ballot by mail should mail it as soon as possible—and no later than July 14, 2026—or return it to an official ballot drop box or voting location by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Time is running out for eligible Arizona voters to register and make their voices heard in the upcoming primary election on July 21, 2026! The voter registration deadline is today, and residents who are not yet registered—or who need to update their registration information—must ensure their registration is secure 29 days before the election.

PHOENIX – Today, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) announced the winners of its 10th Annual Clearinghouse Awards, commonly referred to as the "Clearies." These awards recognize the best practices in election administration. 

Today, Judge Susan Brnovich rightfully dismissed the Trump Administration's lawsuit demanding Arizona hand over its statewide voter registration rolls to the federal government. That database contains the sensitive personal information of millions of Arizona voters — home addresses, dates of birth, and Social Security and driver's license numbers.

April 16 marks 200 days until the midterm election on November 3, 2026. As the state prepares to administer a secure and accessible election, community leaders, organizations, and voters are being called upon to play a critical role in strengthening voter awareness and participation.

PHOENIX – Following Arizona State Senator Warren Petersen's announcement on X (formerly Twitter) that he had referred of Attorney General Kris Mayes and Secretary of State Adrian Fontes to the Department of Justice on allegations obstruction of justice and witness tampering, the following response from Secretary Fontes was released:

PHOENIX –  Arizona today joined a coalition of states suing President Trump in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, challenging his unlawful Executive Order that attempts to interfere with states' constitutional authority to administer elections by restricting voter eligibility and mail voting to lists of voters pre-authorized by the federal government.

PHOENIX – “Arizona operates as the gold standard for election administration, requiring documented proof of citizenship (DPOC) at the time of registration and voter ID at the polls. This Executive Order is a disgusting overreach from the federal government and shows how little the Trump Administration understands about election administration.
