PHOENIX – In a swift decision, the Arizona Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, ensuring that almost 100,000 registrants will retain their ability to vote a full ballot in the upcoming elections.

PHOENIX – Arizona's election law, among the strictest in the U.S., requires citizens to meet rigorous standards to verify their eligibility to register to vote. Since 2004, these requirements have tightened significantly. Recently, officials found that some long-term Arizonans, who were registered under less strict rules, had not been asked to meet the new standards due to a coding oversight.

PHOENIX – Following the Supreme Court’s decision, Arizona's law requiring documentary proof of citizenship for voter registration is reinstated. Counties will reject new state forms missing documented proof of citizenship. Voters may still register using the National Mail Voter Registration Form, which requires an attestation of citizenship under penalty of perjury.

PHOENIX – The Maricopa County Superior Court confirms results for the July 30, 2024, Primary Election for United States Representative for Congressional District 3 between candidates Yassamin Ansari and Raquel Terán. With Ansari receiving 19,087 votes and Terán receiving 19,048 votes, the results remain reliable by a difference of three votes.
 

PHOENIX – The Arizona Secretary of State's Office would like to inform the public that the Maricopa County Superior Court will conduct an open reading of Civil Court Case CV2024-021570 tomorrow at 11:30 AM. The session, presided over by Judge Jennifer Ryan-Touhill, will take place at 201 W. Jefferson Street, Phoenix, AZ.

PHOENIX – The Secretary of State’s office updated the 2024 Primary Canvass on Friday after identifying a clerical error that affected the way results were reported for the Green Party, including the U.S. Senate primary race from the qualified candidate Michael Norton to write-in candidate Eduardo Quintana.
 

PHOENIX – On August 15, Secretary Fontes invites the public to stream the official canvass of the July 30, 2024, Primary Election results. This Official Statewide Canvass ceremony marks the culmination of efforts across our 15 counties to conduct a free, fair, and secure Primary Election. 
 

PHOENIX – As part of a two-year National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP) grant, the State of Arizona Research Library (StARL), a branch of the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records in collaboration with the University of Arizona Libraries (UAL) have completed the digitization of 50 historical newspapers published in Arizona.

PHOENIX – Secretary of State Adrian Fontes has been unanimously appointed as the Chair of Arizona's America250 Commission. The announcement comes following the commission's inaugural agenda item for this year: recognizing Arizona's winning students of America's Field Trip, a nationwide scholastic contest designed to engage youth in commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
